The new courses and some of the new locations for CentreTerm 2023 include the Caribbean, Ghana, Greece/Turkey, Lake Tahoe, Mexico (Oaxaca), Morocco and Taiwan. The course will begin with two weeks in Memphis, Tennessee at Rhodes, then will continue for 12 weeks in Ghana.

Centre-in-Ghana will focus on connections between West Africa and the African Diaspora in the U.S. Starting in Fall 2022, as part of Centre’s collaboration with Rhodes College and Sewanee: The University of the South, students from all three institutions will be able to participate in the new Ghana program: “Global Ghana: History, Culture and Development,” led by Sarah Murray, associate professor of education. The new Centre-in-Tahoe program will begin in January with a CentreTerm course taught by Brett Werner, associate professor of environmental studies, and continue each semester with a curriculum combining courses in the sciences and humanities that focus on the question, “What is Nature?” Two new semester programs have been added to the 2022-23 academic year: Lake Tahoe and Ghana. This upcoming summer, students can participate in new courses located in Colombia, Italy, Miami, Spain and Quebec. Semester programs, as well as summer and CentreTerm courses.
